Description and Responsibilities
Medical device reprocessing technicians are responsible for the general maintenance and proper functioning of equipment and devices, in accordance with the protocols and standards in effect. They may perform other tasks, such as transporting and distributing equipment from the central medical device reprocessing unit.
They work primarily in the medical device reprocessing unit, the operating room, or in satellite units related to their tasks.
Education and Training Requirements
A new professional program called Medical Device Reprocessing prepares students to work as medical device reprocessing technicians in health and social services.
