Description and Responsibilities
Radiology technologists (IT infrastructure and digital imagery) are responsible for:
- The operation of systems used
- Backing up data
- Managing availability and secure access
They train staff on how to use the PACS -RIS system and provide them with technical support.

Education and Training Requirements
Radiology technologists (IT infrastructure and digital imagery) must hold a college diploma in radiodiagnostic technology, radiation oncology or nuclear medicine. These programs are offered in most regions of Québec. Radiology technologists must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in their field of specialization and hold specific training on the PACS-RIS computer system. To work in the health and social services network, you must be a member of the Ordre des technologues en imagerie médicale, en radio-oncologie et en électrophysiologie médicale du Québec (in French only).
