Description and Responsibilities

Radiology technologists (IT infrastructure and digital imagery) are responsible for:

  • The operation of systems used
  • Backing up data
  • Managing availability and secure access

They train staff on how to use the PACS -RIS system and provide them with technical support.

Education and Training Requirements

Radiology technologists (IT infrastructure and digital imagery) must hold a college diploma in radiodiagnostic technology, radiation oncology or nuclear medicine. These programs are offered in most regions of Québec. Radiology technologists must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in their field of specialization and hold specific training on the PACS-RIS computer system.
